TaylorMade R11 S Driver

TaylorMade R11 s driver
I love writing reviews and decided to take a look at the different golf drivers. I have used many drivers in the past but have yet to find one that was right for me. I thought a driver was a driver and there wasn't a big deference, unless you were a professional.

Man was I wrong! There is more to a driver than I ever thought. When doing research I looked at the many different aspects of a great driver. This search lead me to the TaylorMade R11 S Driver.

What to look for when buying a new driver?

It didn't take much research to find there are key things to look for in a driver. These are:

  • The Size & Weight
  • The Launch Angle
  • The Flex
  • The Adjustability

If you just have any other club then you are missing out on major yardage on your drive. Most professionals are known for their drives. Stay with me and I will explain why the TaylorMade R11 S Driver is amazing.

Size & Weight

Many people, when thinking about a driver, don't pay much attention to the size and the weight. This is an important aspect to getting you to your max drive. The lighter the club the faster you can swing, therefor you get more distance. If you wish to have more control over the ball, a shorter driver is what you want to get. If you want your farthest drive, grab a longer driver. Driver sizes are between 43-47.

Whats nice about the TaylorMade R11 S Driver is it comes with that perfect length for control and max distance. But you can always customize if you prefer something else more to your liking.

Launch Angle or Loft

The Launch Angle is the angle the ball is hit into the air from the driver. Typically drivers have launch angles of 18 to 11 degrees. The angle is important because when you have it dialed in, you will get the max distance of your swing with the driver.

According to TaylorMade website, "With the flight control technology sleeve you can increase or decrease the loft of the new R11 S by 1.5 degrees by selecting 8 different positions.... With the improved adjustable sole plate technology you now have 5 different settings to choose from. A 6 degree allows you independently to open or close the face by 3 degrees, without affecting the loft." This is key to finding what is perfect for your style of golf. The TaylorMade R11 S Driver has 40 different combinations of loft and face angles!!!!

Flex

Flex is the amount your shaft can bend during your golf swing. The flex in your drivers shaft is more important than you would think. Say you have been using the wrong flex, you may be dealing with lost balls or just real floppy shots. When you find what fits your style, your game is going to increase tremendously. The five different flex types are; Extra Stiff, Stiff, Regular, Seniors, and Ladies. If you have a pretty fast swing then probably go with a stiff shaft. On the other hand, if your swing is slow then try for more flex. Whats great about the TaylorMade R11 S Driver is you can get it with any flex you want.
Rule of thumb

- 250 or more yards .... Stiff
- 230 to 250 yards .... Regular
- 200 to 230 yards .... Senior
- 200 or less yards .... Ladies

Adjustability

Adjustability is something we have already mentioned when we talked about launch angle a few paragraphs up. Professionals are the ones that really pushed for new drivers to have adjustable parts. Whats good about having an adjustable driver is the ability fine tune your club to the conditions or your style.Whats nice about the TaylorMade R11 S Driver is its ability to switch up the weight.

According to Amazon.com "Movable Weight Technology (MWT) allows you to tune the driver's center of gravity to promote a draw or neutral ball flight. Putting the 10-gram weight in the heel and the 1-gram weight in the toe moves the CG closer to the heel to give the R11 a draw-bias, which promotes a right-to-left ball flight. Putting the 1-gram weight in the heel and the 10-gram weight in the toe moves the CG toward the toe, making the R11 neutral to promote a neutral, or straight ball flight."

Does it include a Warranty?

Yes, TaylorMade offers a 2 year warranty.

How much should you pay?

The TaylorMade R11 S Driver is available on the TaylorMade website for $399.00 but you really should not be paying more than $290.00 for this driver. The Cheapest we have seen it is on Amazon who has sold this driver many times for $240.00

What others are saying?

This driver has received great reviews from most consumers on the internet with an average rating of 4.8 stars out of 5. Most reviews were found on Amazon and the TaylorMade website itself.
